I got the name of a good editor from one of the other people at the 'Novel - Advanced' workshop at Listowel Writers' Week.
The name is Hilary Johnson. The person I was talking to said she paid £120 for a developmental edit - that is, one of Hilary Johnson's employees read her novel and gave her great feedback on plot and structure. She said it took 5 weeks.
So today I'm doing the same myself. It will be the first time they've ever received a novel that's already perfect.
Or maybe not.
